OSSIMAG® PHL is a Light Magnesium Oxide according to the "Characters" of European Pharmacopoeia 5th Ed. 2005:

“It is a fine, white or almost white, amorphous powder, practically insoluble in water. It dissolves in dilute acids with at most slight effervescence”.

Thanks to its high purity, OSSIMAG® PHL is widely used in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and food applications as:

• an antacid, alkaline buffer and laxative in pharmaceutical preparations (tablets, capsules, powders) as well as in mineral supplements;

• as a filler in the production of pharmaceutical magnesium derivates;

• as a magnesium source in mineral and vitamin supplement tablets;

• as a mild abrasive and neutralizer of acid secretions in toothpaste;

• as an absorbent, opacity agent and pH adjuster in cosmetic products or in dentistry for  dental cement;

• as a filter aid and clarifying agent in food and beverage processing;

• the production of magnesium hydroxide paste.
